In 2007 we started offering our services to other areas in Kansas, working in towns such as Benton, Towanda, Winfield and Independence. We can handle anything from painting your bathroom, faux finishing your living room, painting the interior and exterior of your company's new office, to doing all the paint, stain and lacquer work on new construction homes or commercial locations.
Painting is more than just rolling on some paint, that's why we have knowledgeable trained staff and use only the best products in the industry. Our process first begins with a simple phone call. We will then schedule a time to meet with you in person for the project you want to accomplish. After measuring and our evaluation of your space we will create a custom estimate just for you which is based upon area, materials and labor combined. Our estimates are per project and we give price breaks on larger jobs. We follow up with a phone call to make sure you have all the information you need.
EXTERIORS
Customers expect quality for what they are paying for and that is what you will receive with River City Paint Company. Any exterior job is treated carefully as it has battled the elements and will continue to do so. For that reason, we overhaul all surfaces with a good power wash and mildew elimination/prevention, removal of all loose pieces and debris by scraping, and smooth sanding. Priming is a must for bare and exposed areas, distinguished color changes or to correct/prevent a failed previous application. All seams will be caulked for maximum seal and all holes will be filled. Another sanding is required followed by another layer of primer. You will find that we pay close attention to the surface and on the prep work. About 70% of a great paint job is the prep work. Flat paint is never used unless requested by you. The exterior body is sprayed with two coats of urethane modified paint only and back-rolled/brushed for an even outer shell. We use only the best type of paint which ensures maximum UV protection for a lasting finish. A time of 24 hours is allowed for all coats of paint to fully dry and cure. If the layer of paint has not cured, a second coat will not be applied until it has cured. If the second coat is applied on the uncured layer of paint, adhesion problems can and will occur.
INTERIORS
Interior painting follows the same suit as exterior except that we do not use urethane-based paint for walls. For trim and cabinets we are able to spray enamel for a super smooth finish. All unmovable items are covered for protection as well as all flooring. All trim not being painted is masked off with a delicate surfaces blue tape. All walls are evaluated for proper repair and prep work such as filling, sanding, priming and two coats of paint are rolled. After the tape has been removed, all trim is inspected for run-through of paint and cleaned off as needed. Old and tired cabinet and woodwork finishes can be revived by using a tone and lacquer process that is special to River City Paint Company. FAUX FINISHING/SPECIAL IMITATION
We have a full-time Faux Painter & Artist for all of your decorative or “impossible” painting needs. Tracey has a Bachelors Degree in Studio Art and a Decorative and Ornamental Painting and Design Certificate both from Wichita State University. She also has taken Interior Design classes from Fort Hays State University and has an Associate of Arts Degree from Cowley College. She is capable of serving you through color consultation, choosing and executing a faux finish that works with your interior, providing you with samples to help you decide, matching a finish from a magazine or photograph or imitating special surfaces such as granite, marble, wood or a finish that is all ready existing. Trompe l'oeil and murals can be created just for you whether it’s an entire wall or a specific area within your space. Bring your ideas and she will make them happen.
